Moorea, Tahiti
and the Tiki Village
I'm going to
start off here with The tiki village theater. I will say this, it is a BAD
tourist trap and is expensive. Now i like corny things but this was bad,
rehearsed and the food wasn't to great either. My recommendation is to skip it.
There were 4 tiki's in the entire place. The show was ok but you can find free
ones that had more energy. Too Bad, it seemed to have so much potential.
here's a link
to their sight, looks cool doesn't it?

Now onto Moorea.
I stopped over in Moorea (an island of Tahiti....or French Polynesia) on my way
back from Easter Island. To put it bluntly, I didn't like Moorea much. It was
full of french and US tourists, and I found it hard to mingle with the Natives.
That being said, the few Natives I did meet were very nice.

Watch out for
hidden costs at your hotel!!! They charge for everything.....nothing is free,
even if it seems so.

The one Great
place here is a small bar on the beach with a Giant Native in front down near
the Tiki Village Theater. Nice Beach, Nice Staff, uncrowded, good
snorkeling..... seek this place out.
The island is
expensive, I mean it, I've been to many places and this one was a wallet buster.
(save your beer bottles, you get a lot of the money back through recycling :)
This place is ment to be a big Club Med, and if you like that sort of thing
you'll love it, except that everything closes very early. I like snorkeling,
swimming and all that, just not this way. The most important thing is, RENT A
SCOOTER. It will empower you to get around, there are no other options, trust
me.
I know this is
rather negative but It is mighty beautiful here, and I did enjoy myself, it just
wasn't as cool as Easter Island.
